Causes Of Excessively High Engine Temperature Of Tire-type Cranes

Nov 27, 2023 Leave a message

Tire-type cranes are usually used for loading and unloading heavy objects and installation operations. When the equipment is in continuous operation, the engine temperature is too high, and the engine water temperature is too high. This will usually cause the coolant in the radiator to boil, power to decrease, lubricating oil viscosity to decrease, and engine parts to become intermittent. Increased friction may even lead to engine cylinder pullout, cylinder gasket burnout, and other serious failures. Many people don't know why this happens. To this end, the editor has compiled the following content, hoping to help everyone.

Tire-type Crane

1. Overloaded work for a long time

If the engine is overloaded for a long time, it will increase fuel consumption and heat load, resulting in excessive water temperature. For this reason, long-term overload operation of the engine should be avoided.

2. Insufficient coolant

If there is a lack of coolant in the engine cooling system, it will affect the engine heat dissipation effect and cause the engine to be overheated. In this regard, the coolant stock in the radiator and expansion tank should be checked frequently and replenished in time when the liquid level is low.

3. Poor coolant circulation

Insufficient opening of the thermostat will reduce the heat dissipation capacity of the engine cooling system's large circulation. If the engine is hot, you can put the thermostat into water for heating inspection. Generally, the opening distance of the thermostat is 8 to 10 mm.

4. Poor performance of the water pump will cause the coolant flow to decrease and cause the engine to be overheated. In this regard, the upper and lower water chambers of the radiator should be checked. The temperature difference between the upper and lower water chambers is generally 6 to 12°C. If it is too small, the water pump can be replaced.

5. Excessive scale will also affect the heat dissipation efficiency of the fins in the radiator and reduce the heat conduction capacity of the coolant and cold air. In this regard, the engine cooling system should be cleaned regularly, and at the same time, avoid using low-quality coolant to reduce the formation of scale.

6. Debris attached to the surface of the radiator

Debris attached to the surface of the radiator will not only reduce the heat dissipation area of the radiator, but also reduce the windward area of the radiator, resulting in a reduction in the heat dissipation capacity of the radiator and causing high engine temperature.
